I'm gonna ban gifts at Christmas. I don't want anything. Nothing anyone is gonna give me is gonna be what I want. Maybe booze, maybe that's what I'll ask for. I'll tell them 'I don't want anything anymore. I've reached that perfect spiritual point where all you can give me is your company and a drink. That's all I want. Don't give me anything because nothing can measure up to that.'
It's not a 'Christmas is over-commercial' thing, either. Although you know, the way Christmas is about retail consumption pisses me off. But that's never stopped anyone from making Christmas personal and their own.
It's just receiving gifts has become so dissatisfying that I'd prefer people to spend the money on other things.
